The Rotary Club Moskau Metropol invited Gabriele Vaccaro, Italian lawyer, Rotarian, and Founder and Honorary President of the Association of Eurasian Patrons and Artists, to speak on March 3, 2026. The online meeting focused on cultural patronage and Eurasian art. It brought together Rotary members from Russia and Italy.
For Vaccaro, the invitation had a special meaning. As a Rotarian, he strongly values dialogue, service, and international cooperation. Therefore, speaking at a fellow Rotary Club made the experience even more significant.
The Association of Eurasian Patrons and Artists
During the meeting, Gabriele Vaccaro presented the mission and vision of the Association. He founded the organization to connect artists, collectors, and cultural institutions across Europe and Asia.
The Association builds strong cultural ties with Russia. In particular, it promotes dialogue between artistic traditions and supports collaboration across borders. Moreover, its work helps emerging artists gain visibility and access new opportunities.
A key role in this mission belongs to the President of the Association, Rita Chiurco, a renowned Italian iconographer. She trained under Father Andrej of Pskov. As a result, her work connects Italian Byzantine art with Russian Orthodox traditions. In addition, she actively builds cultural bridges between Italy and Russia.
Modern Patronage in 2026
In his speech, Gabriele Vaccaro reflected on the evolution of patronage. He recalled figures such as Gaius Cilnius Maecenas, Lorenzo de’ Medici, and Pavel Mikhailovich Tretyakov.
Today, patronage goes beyond financial support. Instead, it promotes artists and strengthens their visibility. It also creates international networks and connects artists with collectors and institutions. Furthermore, it brings art closer to the public.
In this way, modern patronage contributes to building real cultural ecosystems. At the same time, it encourages dialogue between countries, especially between Italy and Russia.
International Dialogue Within the Rotary Network
The meeting brought together members from several Rotary Clubs. Participants joined online from different clubs across Russia and Italy. As a result, the discussion developed in an open and constructive way.
During the exchange, participants shared ideas on art, culture, and international cooperation. Moreover, the presence of different perspectives enriched the overall dialogue.
At the end of the event, participants joined a Q&A session. Gabriele Vaccaro answered questions and offered further insights into the Association’s work.
A sincere and heartfelt thank you goes to the President of the Rotary Club Moskau Metropol for her kind invitation and excellent organization. Her commitment made this event possible and truly meaningful. Finally, appreciation is extended to all participants for their attention and valuable contributions.
Art, Patronage and Cultural Exchange
Through the work of the Association, Gabriele Vaccaro promotes a concrete and contemporary vision of cultural patronage. His activity focuses on creating real connections between artists, institutions, and collectors across Europe and Asia.
This commitment supports emerging talents and strengthens cultural exchange within the Eurasian space. Ultimately, it reflects a clear idea: patronage today means building relationships, opening opportunities, and bringing art closer to society.
